“The presentation by Susan Raby-Dunne on the background of “In Flanders Fields” poem was riveting because of her personal “on the ground” research, tracking down Belgian sites and military positions on precise days, backed up by aerial photography and documentary evidence.  The character of Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, a shadowy name to many, emerges as an example of an admirable and dedicated soldier, not to mention a prolific poet.  First rate historical research and treatment of an iconic Canadian issue!”

“I really enjoyed Susan’s recent presentation on John McCrae. Her first person on site research, combined with her passion for the subject and her ease at story telling brought a tear to my eye.  Very well done.”

“Susan Raby-Dunne shares her knowledge and passion for the stories of John McCrae in a way that truly connected with our high school students.  By the end of the engaging presentation, students seemed to recognize that there was so much more to McCrae.  She makes her audience believe in his bravery and compassion and she creates important context for one of Canada’s most treasured figures.”
